BUNCOMBE COUNTY, N.C. (WLOS) — Buncombe County Commissioner Terri Wells announced Monday, Dec. 4, that she will seek re-election in a different district in 2024.
Wells, currently representing District 1, will run in the newly-drawn District 2, which encompasses much of the county's western and northern regions.
"I am proud to be a leader in conserving our natural resources and family farms, improving our broadband infrastructure, and building a stronger future for our next generation," Wells said. "I am excited to continue to serve our greater Leicester and North Buncombe areas and to broaden my service to our community by gaining Candler and Swannanoa. I will work hard for all of our Buncombe County families."
In a press release, Wells said she will host community conversations across District 2, including Candler, Leicester, Weaverville, Barnardsville, and Swannanoa, to meet and listen to residents in their communities.
